Wax Cotton Canvas
Watership brings together finely crafted hat designs with a traditional formula for waterproofing sailcloth. These hats are virtually waterproof and are offered with summer lining of wicking nylon or winter lining of cozy, warm polyester fleece. These wax cotton hats can be treated seasonally to maintain their water repellent quality.

Plush Pile Fabrics
Our plush knit fabric has excellent loft, shape and stability. The blending of the exclusive acrylic Micro Supreme gives this fabric softness, excellent warmth to weight ratio, and breathability with maximum wicking. The classic designs of these top selling hats will be in style for years.

Wool
Our 80/20 wool blend fabrics provide great warmth and inherent water repellency.

eVENT Fabric Technology^™
With its supple quality, breathability, and great color, the eVENT^™ fabrics make ideal rain and weather hats. This is a two layer laminate to which we weld seam tape to assure waterproof quality.

Spring/Summer Fabric Selection

Cotton Canvas
10 oz. and 15 oz. cotton canvas is best for all around comfort, wearablility, and has ultraviolet protection factor UPF 50+. We pre-wash this fabric to reduce shrinkage and add to it's softness.

High Performance Sweatbands
High Performance materials used in the sweatband for our hats is extremely efficient in wicking perspiration and enhancing the evaporative cooling effect.

Watership Floats
Carol Frechette, our Chief Designer, designed the first canvas hat with a layer of closed cell foam in the brim in 1990. This material is the same polymer that is used in high quality personal flotation devices. It is hypo-allergenic and manufactured without CFC's. The "Star Corona"^® stitching on our broad brims is a registered mark of Watership Hats^™.

Spec50^™ Lightweight Nylon
SPEC50 lightweight nylon makes great summer hats with its excellent sun protection (UPF 50+) and aerobic action evaporative cooling system. These lightweight hats wick moisture, are breathable, and quick drying.

Hemp and Organic Canvas Blend
These two component fibers have excellent properties for comfort and durability as well as sustainability. The fabric blend has a beautiful texture and color.
